My name is Stephen Poon. And I am the artist of Uniko Jewelry. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon. I have always been a crafty kid. Always thinking outside the box and outside any restictions that hold me back.
Most artists stuggle in the world. Being an artist is a combination of creativity, beauty, quality and craftmenship. My jewelry is an example of that. But I added 1 more to the list, detail. What makes my jewelry so beautiful? The little detailed work I put into each piece. One of the first things I tell my customers is to turn any of the pendants to its side so they could see all the different layers.
When I first started making glass. My teacher would see me an hour before class doing something in the back. He never really understood what I was doing. I was experimenting with how glass works with varies combinations. After tons of wasted glass I finally made a piece that I was aiming for. It was not exactly want I wanted, but was the first step towards it. After that I had to understand what happen, how it work and finally how to make it better.
